Alan Kropp & Associates diverse portfolio of engineering projects spans multiple market sectors. Over the past 30 years we have contributed to the success of over 6,000 projects by providing high quality, technically appropriate geotechnical investigation, consultation and construction services.

• Hazard Mitigation AKA has specialized technical expertise in the management of geologic risks associated with seismically-induced ground failure, such as landsliding, liquefaction and surface fault rupture. Landslide mitigation is an area of special interest to us, and we strive to strike an appropriate balance between advanced analytical methods and hands-on experience to develop practical and cost-effective approaches to landslide mitigation design.

  

• Urban AKA provides a full range of geo-engineering and consulting services for mixed use, office, commercial, industrial, and community (medical, recreational, religious and public) building projects. Buildings are the bread and butter of our business. AKAs specialized building expertise includes structures in challenging geologic and/or urban environments, seismic upgrades, and historic preservation of existing structures.

  

• Residential AKA provides geotechnical consultation, investigation and construction services to a select group of clients for single-family residential and subdivision projects. AKAs specialized residential project experience includes developing site-specific approaches to mitigate landslide hazards and distress.

  

• Campus AKA has specialized experience providing geotechnical services for  public K-12 schools, colleges, universities,  and research facilities. Campus administrators and facilities personnel execute a wide variety of projects, often within a unique technical, regulatory, financial, and public-relations framework. AKA's campus project portfolio includes buildings, infrastructure, geo-hazard mitigation, and on-call services.

  

• Government AKA provides geotechnical consultation, investigation and construction services to City, County, and State agencies for a variety of municipal projects including the construction of new structures and the evaluation of geologic hazards at existing project sites. AKA has provided services for the City of Berkeley, the City of El Cerrito, the City of Palo Alto, the City of Healdsburg, Alameda and Contra Costa Counties, and the State of California.

  

• Infrastructure AKA provides geo-engineering and consulting services for a broad range of infrastructure projects that have included roadways, airports, pipelines, electrical substations, and communication towers.
