• About Us – Alan Kropp & Associates (AKA) is an independent privately-owned geotechnical consulting firm located in the San Francisco Bay Area. From our downtown Berkeley offices, we provide a full range of geotechnical services to a broad spectrum of public and private-sector clients.

  

• Personnel – AKA's professional personnel include experts in geo-hazards, foundations, earth retention, site response, forensics, and legal consulting. We are certified as a Small Local Emerging Business (SLEB) and currently have a staff that includes six engineers, one GIS/CAD Specialist, and two office personnel. Four of our engineers are California-registered Civil Engineers, two hold additional registrations as Geotechnical Engineers. AKA’s founder, Principal Engineer and President, Alan Kropp, has over 30 years of geotechnical engineering experience and actively manages the firm.
